VivAer
An office procedure for nasal obstruction

What is nasal obstruction?

Many people with nasal obstruction experience difficulty breathing through their nose, congestion, interrupted sleep and fatigue. Nasal obstruction is often caused by anatomical blockage in the nose or inflammation causing swelling, hindering airflow.  For some patients, these obstructions can be easily corrected and their symptoms are mild.  For others, however, the nasal obstruction doesn't go away simply, and the feeling can be very uncomfortable.

Am I a candidate for the VivAer procedure?

To find out, take these two simple tests:

Cottle Maneuver:

1.  Place two fingertips on your cheeks on each side

of your nose

2.  Gently press and pull outward to further open your

nasal passage.  While holding, breathe through your

nose.

If the Cottle maneuver helped you to breathe better,

you may be a candidate for the VivAer technique.

NOSE Score:

Complete a NOSE Score to get a sense of the severity of your nasal obstruction. If your score is above 25, you may be a candidate.
